Hock Shields is a company native of the United States specialising in the production of protective coverings for the lower legs of horses. The specific product line, Hock Shield and Fetlock Shield, did not have a distribution presence in Australia and as a result,Dr Anna Pillich, owner and lead vet at Kulnura Vet Services (an existing client of Web Merlin), began importing and distributing the product in 2014. Web Merlin was engaged by Dr Pillich to assist in establishing digital foundations for the product in Australia. As a result, a Facebook business page with custom URL was established and account information entered ready for social sharing. The development of custom imagery using product photos was conducted so that the Facebook page had the ideal images and content dimensions appropriate for the platform.
Furthermore, Dr Pillich showcases the products at local horse shows and fairs to promote local interest. Web Merlin created an A3/4 brochure that showcased the product visually. In addition Web Merlin designed specifically tailored digital advertisement blocks required by Dr Pillich so that marketing could occur on local, popular equine show websites.
